LiXiang L7 L8 L9 Maintenance Guide — Riyadh Service Center 2026
LiXiang L7, L8 & L9 maintenance for Saudi Arabia owners: brakes for L9's extra weight, air-suspension service intervals, and the generator-engine oil mistake that costs thousands. EVS Riyadh specialists.

LiXiang is one of the most popular Chinese brands in Saudi Arabia, especially the L7, L8, and L9 models. All are Extended Range Electric Vehicles (EREVs) — meaning they have a large battery for electric driving plus a small engine that acts as a generator. But despite the similarity, there are important maintenance differences between them.
Size and weight matter. The L9 is much larger — a 7-passenger SUV weighing over 2.5 tons. The L8 is mid-sized with 6 seats. The L7 is the smallest and lightest. This means brakes, tires, and suspension on the L9 face more stress and need more frequent inspection. We recommend L9 owners inspect brakes every 10,000 km instead of 15,000.
Battery sizes are similar across the three models, though exact capacity varies by model year and trim — check your specific vehicle's specifications. L9 consumption is higher due to its size and weight, so an L9 battery typically goes through more charge/discharge cycles over the same distance and benefits from an annual battery health check.
The generator engine in LiXiang EREVs is a small combustion engine that produces electricity to charge the battery. It needs its own engine oil and filter changes per the manufacturer's schedule. Important: this engine takes specific oil designed for the EREV application — not standard engine oil.
The air suspension system available on L9 (and as an option on some L7 and L8 trims) needs periodic inspection. Air suspension components can develop leaks over time, and addressing them early is much cheaper than a full system repair.
Screens and smart systems: LiXiang vehicles use multiple screens, with the larger models offering more displays. Software updates are an important part of keeping these systems stable, and some updates may need a workshop visit depending on the vehicle and the specific update.
At EVS Riyadh, our team has hands-on experience with LiXiang vehicles and we use diagnostic equipment that can read the brand's fault codes. We handle battery service, generator engine service, suspension, and software updates. Contact us via WhatsApp, phone, or our online form to book an inspection of your L7, L8, or L9 — covering battery, mechanical, and programming services.
