The Complete EV Tire Guide for Saudi Arabia
EV tires are different from regular car tires. Learn why, and how to choose the right tires for your electric vehicle in Saudi conditions.

Electric vehicles are heavier than combustion cars and deliver instant torque, so they need tires designed for them. Regular tires on an EV can wear faster, reduce range and weaken handling. Here's what EV owners in Saudi Arabia need to know about tires.
EV-specific tires differ in three ways. They have reinforced sidewalls to carry the extra weight of the battery pack. They use low rolling resistance compounds to get more range. They also have noise-reducing foam inserts, because there's no engine noise to cover road sound. Michelin (Pilot Sport EV), Continental (EcoContact 6) and Hankook (iON) all make EV-specific tires.
In Saudi Arabia's extreme heat, tire pressure needs close attention. Heat makes the air expand, which raises tire pressure above the recommended level. Check your tire pressure every two weeks, and always when the tires are cold (before driving or at least 3 hours after). Over-inflated tires grip less and wear unevenly in the center. Under-inflated tires increase rolling resistance and reduce range.
Tire rotation matters more on EVs than on regular cars. The instant torque of electric motors wears the front tires faster on front-wheel-drive EVs and the rear tires faster on rear-wheel-drive models. Rotate every 8,000 to 10,000 km so all four tires wear evenly.
When it's time to replace your tires, don't switch to cheaper non-EV tires. The wrong tires can cut your range by up to 10-15%. At EVS, we stock and install EV-specific tires from all major brands for all EV models. We also offer wheel alignment with precision equipment calibrated for electric vehicles, so your tires wear evenly and you keep your range.
If you notice vibration or uneven wear, don't wait. Bring your EV to EVS for a full tire and alignment inspection, part of our mechanical services. Finding problems early saves you from paying for new tires too soon.
